Are you normal? Photo exhibition

<p data-block-key="vdhps">Are You Normal? is an exhibition that will be opened in the Pier Hall of the Reykjavík Maritime Museum on 24 April to celebrate the Children&#x27;s Culture Festival. Are you normal? is a project where teenagers reflect on what it is to be normal. The project is about stereotypes and how constricting they can be. The teenagers learn to recognize stereotypes and the importance of challenging them. Aren&#x27;t fat people sexy? Are gays always feminine? Should we feel sorry for people with disabilities? Can older people make out? Are mental illnesses terrible? The exhibition celebrates diversity and inclusivity. It is open from 10 to 17 every day until 7 May. Entry is free, and everyone is welcome!</p>

The Settlement Exhibition Aðalstræti - Guided tour

Reyk­javík’s his­tory in a nut­shell. At Aðalstræti 10 and 16 in Reykjavík’s city centre, you can explore how the city developed from Iceland’s settlement period to the present day. Stretching underground from Aðalstræti 16 – which houses the archaeological remains of a 10th-century Viking longhouse – to the central Kvosin area’s oldest remaining building at Aðalstræti 10, this historical exhibition traces Reykjavík’s development from a farm to a city.

Come and play!

The ex­hib­i­tion fo­cuses on chil­dren's cul­ture, toys and games in the last cen­tury. It is housed in a former church and sports hall called Landakot. The ex­hib­i­tion is in­ter­act­ive and it suits chil­dren in all age groups. Open at the same time as the mu­seum.

From High Mass to High Jump

The story of the build­ing Landakot is told in the ex­hib­i­tion From High Mass to High Jump. The house was built in 1897 as the first cath­olic church in Ice­land since the Re­form­a­tion. In 1930 it be­came a sportshall and re­mained as such un­til 2004 when it was re­lo­cated to the mu­seum.
