Encounters – Nordic Photography Beyond Borders
The exhibition includes photographic- and videoworks by five Nordic contemporary photographers/artists: Bára Kristinsdóttir (Iceland) Johannes Samuelsson (Sweden) Miia Autio (Finland) Nanna Debois Buhl (Denmark) and Sandra Mujinga (Norway)

The works are characterised by social and/or political overtones; in the works ways are explored of visualising “encounters“ between subjects, thus drawing attention to major issues in social discourse today – whether immigration, changes to land- and cityscapes, or local impacts of globalisation.
The project is a collaboration between curators and institutions from the five Nordic countries; Jóhanna Guðrún Árnadóttir, Reykjavík Museum of Photography, Reykjavík, Iceland; Kristine Kern, Fotografisk Center, Copenhagen, Denmark; Tiina Rauhala, Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki, Finland; Susanne Saether, Henie Onstad Art Center, Oslo, Norway, and Sara Walker, Louise Wolthers and Dragana Vujanović Östlind, Hasselblad Foundation, Gothenburg, Sweden.
Previously this year, the exhibition has been on display at the Hasselblad Center, Sweden (23. February – 5. May) and at the Fotografisk Center, Copenhagen (8 June – 18 August).
