Portfolio review will be held for the fourth time at the Icelandic Photography Festival on January 19th and 20th 2018, and is, as previously, organised by the Reykjavík Museum of Photography (Reykjavík City Museum).
The aim with the portfolio review is to broaden networks between photographers in all branches and give them opportunity for advice and feedback on their work.
Portfolio review is a meeting, lasting 20 minutes, where a photographer brings his/her photos, either on paper or digitally and shows the reviewer in question.
Along with Icelandic photography specialists, known international reviewers, both museum and gallery curators or editors of photographic journals, will give Icelandic photographers guidance regarding their work. Participation in the review can offer photographers various opportunities e.g. participating in festivals and/or exhibitions abroad.
GRANT
As previously, a jury, consisting of all the reviewers, will choose a participant who will receive the grant, thus every participant has a chance to receive it. The grant is allocated from The Magnús Ólafsson (1862-1937) Memorial Fund. The Memorial Fund is one of its kind in Iceland and has the aim to promote photography in Iceland as an art form.
