Rock & roll is the title of the Sunday programme on 3 July at the Árbær Open Air Museum, where guests are invited to experience a journey back to the fifties and sixties. The one and only tribute singer Elvis Iceland attends and performs some well-chosen Elvis songs, and members of the group Lindy Ravers will show their fantastic dance moves. Guests are encouraged to dress up in style with the day's theme. The programme starts at 13:00 and lasts until 16:00.
Classic Car Club of Iceland members will show up with their fancy cars and chat with guests. In Hábær, the housewife Katrín Rósa works for a living by styling the hair of the neighbouring women. In Lækjargata, Heiðdís Einarsdóttir does the women's makeup before they go out to have fun. Both women are experts when it comes to pin-up hairstyles and make-up in that period.
Dillons Café serves freshly brewed coffee and fragrant pastries.
Admission is free for children, people with disabilities and holders of the cultural card and the city card.
The museum is open all summer between 10:00-17:00.
