Reykjavík City Museum- Examplary Institution 2020

16.10.2020 X

Reykjavík City Museum landed in 3rd place for the third year in a row of Exemplary Institutions with fewer than 50 employees.

Sameyki - Union of Public Servants announced its selection of the Institute of the year 2020 on 14 October. The members of the union chose through a poll which they think is the Organisation of the Year and the Exemplary Institution.

Reykjavík City Museum landed in 3rd place in its category, Exemplary Institution of the Year 2020, the third year in a row.

This is an important recognition of the work that takes place in the museum, where a strong, positive, and cohesive group works hard at preservation and sharing the diverse history and culture of the city.

This is excellent news in times of uncertainty and will be a great incentive for the museum's employees to continue their work.

The poll reached about 12 thousand employees in the public service, both for the state, the city of Reykjavík, local governments, and private institutions. The poll, which is prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, provides essential information on the position of employees in the labour market. In it, participants are asked about nine aspects of their work environment, i.e. management credibility, work ethic, wages, working conditions, flexibility in work, independence in work, the image of the institution, satisfaction and pride and equality. The aim of selecting exemplary institutions is to encourage managers to do better in personnel matters and increase discussion about the environment and well-being of employees in the workplace.

Five exemplary institutions are chosen from the category "smaller institutions" with 5-49 employees.
