Come and play!
During Bank Holiday Weekend, July 31 and August 1, kids can have fun playing outdoor games at the Árbær Open Air Museum as well as enjoy a ride on the swing or try out hula hoops and other toys. At 13:00 and onwards kids can compete in all kinds of games such as sack race and tug of war./*php $markup = $content['field_mynd_stor']['#markup']; $markup = str_replace('typeof="foaf:Image"', 'typeof="foaf:Image" class="lightbox"', $markup); $content['field_mynd_stor']['#markup'] = $markup; */?>
For the youngest, we recommend a visit to the exhibition "Come and play" in one of the museum buildings called Landakot which contains a variety of toys from various times that children are free to play with.
Sheep and horses are grazing in the pasture, and settlement hens are roaming around the museum area. Freshly brewed coffee and newly baked goods are on offer in the museum café. The convenience store´s shelves are brimming with sweets and delicious ice cream is available in the museum shop.
Árbær Open Air Museum is open daily in the summer from 10:00 – 17:00.
Árbær Open Air Museum is part of Reykjavík City Museum: One museum in five unique places.
