Árbær Open Air Museum closed 10 December due to violent storm
Árbæjarsafn verður lokað á morgun 10. des þar sem von er á norðan stormi. Landnámssýningin, Ljósmyndasafnið og Sjóminjasafnið verða að óbreyttu opin til kl. 14. Árbær Open Air Museum will be closed tomorrow 10 December due to violent storm. Our other museums: The Settlement Exhibition, Reykjavik Museum of Photography and Reykjavík Maritime Museum will close at 14:00.
Schools and leisure activities in Reykjavík will be disrupted because of an orange storm warning. Authorities urge people to fetch their children up to seventh grade from schools right after schooltime before leisure activities start. Older children should go home right after school. After 15:00 no one should be outside, authorities warn.
Driving service for disabled children will be as usual and children will be driven home right after school.
People are asked to check things outside in gardens and around their houses that can be blown away in the storm, especially domestic trash bins.
Swimming pools, libraries and museums run by Reykjavík City will be closed at 14:00.
People are urged to follow instructions given out by the authorities and to follow weather news and alerts by authorities.
An orange warning means that there is a strong likelihood of weather that has a severe social impact, damage to property and people and possibly life-threatening if people are not careful.
