The exhibition focuses on children's culture, toys and games in the last century. It is housed in a former church and sports hall called Landakot. The exhibition is interactive and it suits children in all age groups. Open at the same time as the museum.

Consumption – Reykjavík in the 20th century
The exhibition aims to show the huge and rapid changes that took place in consumption patterns in Reykjavík during the 20th century – to explore the factors that affected consumption, and how technical advances, government actions, wars, and events in Iceland and abroad influenced the daily life of the people of Reykjavík.

The story of a church that became a sportshall
The story of Landakot is told in a new exhibition. The house was built in 1897 as the first catholic church since reformation. In 1930 it became a sportshall and remained as such until recently when it was relocated to the musuem.

On the first floor of Líkn house is the exhibition "History of Photography". It features the history of photography both from an international and Icelandic perspective covering its main factors and events. Also on the first floor, one can find a photographic studio with costumes and props.

Karólína, the Weaver
Karólína Guðmundsdóttir (1897-1981) learned weaving in Copenhagen, and for several decades she ran a weaving atelier on Ásvallagata in Reykjavík.

Hughrif (Impression) art exhibition
HUGHRIF (Impression) is the title of an art exhibition that will be opened on 4 November at 15:30 in Líkn at Árbær Open Air Museum. Participants in Hlutverkasetur's art workshop visited the museum last spring to get inspiration, and the works in the exhibition are the result of that visit. The works are made of paper and painted on stones.

Þing og Þjóðfundur
Þegar hið endurreista Alþingi Íslendinga tók til starfa sumarið 1845 var aðeins eitt hús í bænum sem gat rúmað starfsemi þess, en það var hið mikla hús Lærða skólans sem þá var í smíðum við Lækinn. Þar fór þinghaldið fram annað hvert sumar, allt til ársins 1879, alls 18 þing, eitt þeirra var Þjóðfundurinn sem haldinn var 1851. Jón Sigurðsson sat öll þingin nema fjögur.
